Buckwheat pillow materials
Buckwheat hulls are the outer shell of a buckwheat seed and are left over after buckwheat seeds are processed. Their 3D structure does not compact and allows air to flow throughout the pillow. Therefore, buckwheat pillows do not retain stifling heat and moisture while sleeping.
Each ComfySleep comes with extra buckwheat hulls in case you need more to help customize the your pillow. The buckwheat hulls in our pillows should be adjusted and arranged to precisely suit your body's contours. The buckwheat hulls in all ComfyComfy pillows are grown in the USA, and are air cleaned without the use of fumigants.
Organic cotton twill
The fabric used to make ComfySleep buckwheat pillows has to follow these three criteria: durable for years of use, made from natural fibers, and soft enough for comfortable bedtime use. Our fabric starts with organically grown cotton from Texas, which is then milled into tightly woven cotton twill fabric. Our 9 oz cotton twill helps dampen the rustling sound of buckwheat hulls and contains any dust created by the hulls after years of use.
Each ComfySleep pillow has a discrete YKK invisible zipper so you can add or remove buckwheat hulls from your pillow. This allows you to customize the fill of your pillow for your unique needs. It also allows you to wash the cotton twill pillow. Make sure to empty all the buckwheat hulls into a clean pillowcase or bag before washing! Buckwheat hulls should not get wet.
