Tire yourself out!
- Walk to work. If you live within a mile of your workplace, and have a safe travel route try walking to work. Don’t think of it as a longer commute - think of it was a time to stretch your muscles or listen to a book while walking.
- Go to a class with a friend. A trio of women meet at the barre class I go to each week. I don’t think they’ve missed a class in years.
- Stop what you’re doing right now. Stand up. Reach for the sky. Reach for the ground. Feel better? Do that a few times a day.
Drink enough water.
Being thirsty at night will make restful sleep really difficult. Being thirsty will make your mouth and nose dry, which can lead to restlessness, snoring or leg pain. To make sure you’re hydrated at bedtime, make sure you’re drinking water throughout the day. How much you need to drink depends on your body as well as the activities you do. Eight 8-oz glasses of water might not be enough! Don’t wait until bedtime to drink water - or you’ll have to make a midnight bathroom run!
Resist daytime napping.
We are advocates of naps when you need them here at ComfyComfy. However, if daytime naps are making it hard to sleep at night, skip the nap and wait until bedtime to get your sleep.
Stay on schedule.
Waking up and going to bed at the same time everyday will get your body into a welcome routine.
